Priss is looking at the Genom Tower, and Leon comes up to talk to her. He wonders what the girls will do if they are unable to stop Galatea. It is then that they hear Nene scream and rush to go to her. They find that Galatea has possessed Macky and is trying to erase the data he worked on. Priss physically severs his connection to the computer console.

Leon and Priss kiss goodbye, but he ruins the sweet moment with a snide comment. He will be escorting the refugees out of the city while the girls go after Galatea.

Sylia is glad that the other girls have some with her to the tower. As they attempt to force their way in, they find nano-boomers shielding the wall. Linna attempts to cut through them but is trapped. Sylia and Priss are trapped as well when they try to free her.

Nigel discovers that Macky is still connected to Galatea and that Macky plans to help the girls. He sacrifices his conscious self to distract Galatea long enough to allow the girls to break into the tower. Nene and Sylia are devastated, but Nene insists that they push on.

On their way up, they come across Mason, but leave him, lest Galatea knows that they are coming. Inside, they find that the super-heated plasma conduits were realigned to negate the effects of gravity. Sylia calls Galatea out, who, in turn, sends her amoebas after them — their hardsuits will go rogue if they touch them. Priss decides to grab a conduit and use the plasma to destroy the amoebas, risking her suit’s integrity.

While the others were preoccupied, Sylia went on without them to confront Galatea. Sylia attempts to slice her in two, only to have Galatea use her personal feelings for Macky against her. Sylia goes catatonic, and her suit begins to go rogue. Nene blasts Sylia’s sword, severing the connection to Galatea.

Galatea then begins to transfer her consciousness into the tower, the two becoming one. It takes on her physical form before she begins to launch herself upwards towards space.
