Episode #02: “Born to Kill”
Divers are swimming in Tokyo Bay, heading towards Aqua City. They are to recover the Black Box Syncro System from what is left of Cynthea. Meanwhile, scientists are working diligently on a new type of boomer.
There is a news briefing on TV about the previous night’s destruction of Aqua City. The USSD vows to make a full inquiry into the claims of terrorism involving the satellite weapons.
There’s is a crowd gathered around while Mason was making an appearance. A girl then pushes forward, angrily confronting him, only to be struck back by one of his female bodyguards. Priss then charges into her defense, only to learn firsthand that the women are boomers. Leon intervenes and diffuses the situation.
Sylia is on the phone with the USSD Commander. She expresses to him her doubts about the next job he would like to hire the Knight Sabers for but agrees to recover the black box.
The AD Police are forced to close the Aqua City case, and the news frustrates Leon. The Chief tells him to back off and then proceeds to chew him out. Leon is sure that politics are involved. It is then up to Daley to put him in a better mood.
The Knight Sabers begin to investigate Genom’s connection to Aqua City. Nene and Macky work at it through the computer systems, while Priss goes through Leon. Priss agrees to have lunch with him and proceeds to pump him for information. Leon fails to realize that he is being used, and rambles on about the case — how the explosion was a project related accident. Once she gets her information, Priss then takes off, leaving Leon with the bill.
As the boomer nears completion, it is moved to a new lab. Nene and Macky are still looking for data.
Linna and Irene are at the exercise studio, talking about Irene’s boyfriend and the boomer-related project that he had been working on. Later, while they are shopping and eating dinner, one of Mason’s boomers is watching them, and it arranges to have Linna’s car towed. While the two women discuss Irene’s intentions, she asks Linna to have the Knight Sabers avenger her should something happen to her. It is supposedly a joke, but Linna doesn’t think that it’s very funny.
When they go to leave, they discover that Linna’s car missing. Irene tells her that she will walk, leaving Linna to have to call for a ride home. However, the boomer first tries to run over Linna before going after Irene. Sylia sends Priss to help Linna, who is trying to get to Irene in time. Irene is still trying to outrun the boomer but is growing tired and winded as time passes. Eventually, the boomer catches her, and after toying with the girl for a brief time, ultimately kills her.
Priss arrives just in time for her and Linna to discover Irene’s body. Priss wants to go after the boomer, but Linna stops her, saying that it is her fight. The other girls offer to help her, and they are all solemn as they suit up.
Through the process of elimination, Nene and Macky had determined the location of the lab and the Black Box. When they reach the lab, they encounter the female boomers. It is a tough fight, as that the boomers are lithe and agile, but the Knight Sabers prevail. Linna taking out Irene’s killer herself.
The new boomer then engages the Knight Sabers. It has the particle beam satellite synchronization system installed. The Knight Sabers defeat this boomer as well and see to it that the black box is completely destroyed.
Afterward, Nene is sad that they won’t get paid because the Black Box was destroyed. Linna is just happy that she was able to avenge Irene’s death.
After this latest debacle, the USSD Commander is forced to resign from his position.
