Sylia is distraught over Mason having taken Galatea and is not thinking rationally. Priss ejects the battery of her suit, triggering the safety systems built into the hardsuit. After climbing out of her suit and throwing her helmet away, she tells the others to do the same as she rushes to Sylia’s side.

As the three are helping to carry Sylia to the surface, they hear a noise, and Priss goes to check it out, discovering it to be Leon. Priss wants to know if he’s there to arrest them, but Leon says that he was just down there looking around. He then goes back the way that he came, leaving behind a flashlight.

Genom later covers up the operations, spreading the story that the roadblock was quake instability and had opened up a fissure under the roadway. Mason has also begun to try to ‘befriend’ Galatea, explaining his obsession with her.

Macky is at Nigel’s to recuperate when Nene comes to visit. She wants to know what he is, only to have Nigel tell her that she has to decide for herself whether he is a boomer or a human. Nigel and Macky then explain Galatea and Macky’s origins.

Doctor Stingray had developed an artificial synaptic conductor, a device designed to analyze and copy the human brain’s functions and patterns. The microscopic device was implanted within a young Sylia’s hypothalamus. The device also could regenerate using the host’s tissue and replicate any functions of the original host. Sylia had been the only test subject to survive the procedure, but only because Stingray had dissected Sylia’s mother’s brain to prevent rejection. Galatea was a successful archetype, while Macky was deemed a failed attempt.

After Galatea had grown into her child form, she had tried to leave the Wiz Lab. The facility went into lockdown, and the police surrounded the BioScape facility. After the police equipment goes rogue, it is decided by Genom to use an Artificial Earthquake Device in the hopes of stopping her. Before the device was set off, Stingray had managed to talk Galatea into going back into her containment unit.

Macky had first thought that Sylia had drawn him to Tokyo, but it had been Galatea. He then feels that it would be best to kill himself not to risk putting Nene and the others in danger if he should go rogue again. This upsets Nene, who tells him that ‘people shouldn’t kill themselves,’ and that he is real to her.

Linna scolds Priss, who is sulking. Priss is trying to distance herself emotionally because she believes that without the hardsuits, the Knight Sabers are finished. Despite Linna’s protests, Priss insists that she will refuse to wear a hardsuit again because she believes the hardsuits to be boomers. That revelation gets Linna fired up as well. Leon then shows up at the club and recognizes Linna as the one who wore the green hardsuit. As Linna goes to leave, she tells Priss that she won’t give up.

Priss and Leon then go for a motorcycle ride and talk about what makes them dislike the other’s association, Leon making an apology of sorts. They stand by the river, talking about the Knight sabers splitting up. They are also hopeful that the city will begin to wake up to the boomer problems and the cover-ups.

Just then, a police helicopter comes along to shoo them away from the river but is instead turned away by Leon and his badge. Priss makes some mild jabs at him but then begins to experience painful visions of Sylia’s childhood, as do Linna, Macky, and Nene.
