Description
Macky is Sylia’s ‘brother,’ who was sent away when he was ‘8.’ In actuality, he is a boomer, but as far as the girls are concerned, he’s human. Being a boomer, Macky does not age, the giveaway that Nene discovered while snooping through Sylia’s family records. He resembles a teenage boy and even acts like one at times — being shy around girls and passionate about machines. When he had accidentally walked in on the girls when they were changing, his face went bright red.
Personality
Macky is a naive, curious, and an awkward individual, with an avid interest in computers and machines. Macky is very sweet and easy-going, he doesn’t act like a machine at all. He does love to work on them, claiming that machines know if they’ve been “put together right.” He looks up to Nigel Kirkland, admiring his work, and later becoming his assistant. He also looks up to and has a crush on Nene. The two have a budding romance near the end.
History
Macky is first introduced as Sylia’s younger brother, and he then begins to form a relationship with Nene. It is then revealed that Macky was a result of one of Katsuhito Stingray’s experiments in the Wiz Lab. He is actually a human-like boomer prototype and one of the first boomers ever created. However, Macky didn’t meet expectations — he was too human. Instead, Macky became part of the Stingray family. Sometime after Katsuhito’s death, Macky was sent away, possibly out of fear that he would go rogue. Macky later returned to Tokyo in 2040, becoming Nigel’s assistant not long after. However, Macky and Sylia later had a falling-out and he moved in with Nigel. Macky later “redeemed” himself by helping to fix a malfunction in Priss’ armor and the rush jobs on the new suits. Towards the end of the Galatea ordeal, Macky gave up the last of his power to help the girls, losing himself to Galatea in the process.
Skills
Macky is fairly adept at working on the hardsuits and repairing computers. He is also trying to learn what he can from Nene about programming.
Notes
Macky’s relationship with Priss and Linna is warm, they’re mature enough to be amused with his frantic escapes when they go to change and grateful for the work he does. Most of all, he is closest to Nene, since they both appear to be similar in age and have an almost “teacher-student” relationship sometimes. He also seems to be one of the few people capable of keeping Sylia grounded.
