The boomers are slowly overrunning the tower, which is on minimal emergency power. The boomers are mindless, fusing with whatever technology they come across.

Leon and Daley are at a noodle place, talking about hypothetical situations. Daley knows that things are only beginning after Roland’s daughter calls looking for her father, do the two of them learn that something is wrong at the tower.

With Nene’s assistance, the other officers are slowly making their way to her location in the building, the boomers seeming to be hot on their heels. They soon find themselves nearly surrounded and are forced to take a detour to a nearby supply room.

One of the others explains how the building was designed to lock in any terrorists and prevent them from contacting the M.O.D. With that in mind, Nene brings down the firewall long enough to activate the emergency beacon, only to have the system shut down completely. After the system reboots, they discover that the boomers have gotten into the computer system.

Priss had been in band practice and had been unaware that Sylia had been trying to reach her. When she finally answers her phone, she takes off in the middle of practice.

Mason discovers that one of the office boomers had been doing a data search through Mason’s files. When the boomer refuses to answer his questions, Mason shoots it. Rosenkreutz, who had been watching the interaction, is grieved by how Mason has treated one of his boomers. Mason then goes to visit Galatea, who is happy to see him. She tells him that Macky has taught her how to read.

Priss, Sylia, and Linna are thinking of possible ways to Nene out of the building. Determined to save her, Priss is willing to use her moto-slave and risk serious injury in the process.

Nene has hidden in a darkened supply room, only to be discovered by the boomers. She finds a firearm as she is running away and defends herself. As she attempts to get to Roland and the others, she gets trapped in the space between a pair of blast doors.

Many A.D. Police officers have responded to the tower’s distress beacon, and Priss joins them outside the building. She then surprises Leon further by asking him for help.
