Episode #05: “Moonlight Rambler”
On board a space station orbiting the earth, the resident authorities are chasing after a group of women driving a craft. They are desperate to escape the space station. Their desperation made worse because one of them is injured. To escape the high tech security, they ditch the car while it’s still moving and make for an escape craft, where others are waiting for them. However, only two of them escape from the station with a security boomer still after them. The escape craft is damaged and crashes to earth on a typical Tokyo evening.
Leon and Daley are on their way to the crash to investigate. The SDPC then arrives and takes command of the scene. The SDPC officials are unhappy — a piece of their technology is unaccounted for. Largo is trying to take control of the situation.
Daley is sent to the space station to investigate, while Leon stays behind on Earth. Later that night, a couple in solitude is attacked by a large mech.
Sylvie roars up to Hot Legs, where Linna and Nene are sitting at the bar waiting for Priss. They are discussing Sylvie and the impression that she has made on Priss. Sylvie arrives not long after Priss joins them, and introductions commence. Linna and Nene are intrigued by Sylvie.
Meanwhile, Sylia is meeting with Fargo at a seedy bar, where the two discuss the Knight Sabers’ next job.
Leon and Nene are at the morgue investigating the mysterious deaths. The killer has been dubbed a vampire by the press because the victims are drained of blood and left with a pair of bite marks on the throat. Leon thinks that it may actually be the work of a banned type of boomer (a sexaroid model capable of synchronizing with advanced weaponry).
Nene briefs Sylia on her investigation since a boomer may be involved. She also tells her of Priss’ new friend.
Priss and Sylvie are in the bay when a stray cat appears. Priss feeds it some of her burger. Sylvie goes to do the same when the cat scratches her out of fear. Priss makes a comment that it must just be a jealous female cat. The two then part company after agreeing to talk later.
The battle mech strikes again, and Largo advises the corporation behind the mech on what its next move should be. He is then ordered to put an end to the activities of the mech.
Sylvie has been supplementing Anry’s systems. She is determined to find the data disk and make it so that they both are truly free. Sylvie later goes to the Genom Research facility to retrieve the disk. She then has to flee the security boomers.
Daley checks in with Leon and briefs him on his findings. After telling Daley to get back home, Leon then goes out hunting for the battle mech.
Sylvie is still running from the combat boomers, leading them to the fault-line. After jumping her bike off of the road and into the crevice, she takes up DD and fires at the combat boomers. Inside the police chopper, Leon suits up into a K-11 to bring her down.
Sylvie is injured in the confrontation with the boomers and begins to unintentionally sync the J-1 Auto Control. It then begins to go after Leon in the K-11. Even though he is outmatched, he refuses to give up. The Knight Sabers then arrive on the scene.
Sylvie is trapped inside the battle-boomer and learns that it is losing power. When the power is gone, the dead-man switch will trip and a nuclear self-destruct will detonate. She then begs Priss to kill her so that the city will be saved. When she refuses, the others move to step in. Priss then uses her motoroid to get past the battle mech’s offenses to deal the deathblow.
Priss is heartbroken about having killed her friend. However, she vows to help Anry so that she won’t turn out like Sylvie.
Largo once again attempts to make psychic contact with Sylia.
