Chapter Two
The robot has come to the ADP tower and overlooks the building. Inside, Leon is hassling Nene and informed her about the Knight Sabers missing the memory module the night before. Meanwhile, the techs are trying to decrypt the module.
At Genom tower, a pair of boomer enhanced humans verbally spar. Given enhanced cognitive and intuitive powers by Genom, they have been deemed a potential threat and kept tabs on. The two discuss a shipment of heavy combat boomers that have been stolen and diverted to the city and the return of one Peter Vashnevskaya. He is the only human survivor of an extraction team.
Vashnevskaya, meanwhile, is at a rock club where Priss and her band are performing. He appreciates the sound of her music.
Nene is now in the Knight Sabers’ garage to tell Sylia something, where Mackie shows her the support mech that he had been working on. During this, Sylia remembers her father and the legacy that he had left for her and Mackie. Outside, Nene and Mackie wonder at what she knows about the late Dr. Stingray.
Back at the club, Priss’ set is over, and as she is mingling with the fans, she gets into a fight. When the man pulls a knife on her, Vashnevskaya takes him down and disarms him. He then compliments Priss on her music before warning her about crossing Genom and then swiping her cigarette. Priss gets pissed and then runs him out of the club, the robot watching him.
At the garage, Linna is chewing out Nene for not noticing the memory module. Sylia quiets them both and assigns Nene to get a copy of the files to her for study.
Vashnevskaya is hurrying down the street, another seizure coming on. High above in Genom tower, the man and woman from earlier are talking about his unique condition and how he came to develop it. Vashnevskaya then finds a secluded place, only to have a couple from the club come up to him. He warns them to leave, but blacks out. When he comes to, he finds them dead, and himself covered in blood.
The robot is watching him, while at the same moment, Priss is fuming over their last encounter. The robot then attacks him as Priss is rubbing out her lit cigarette.
