Description
Leon is tough and intelligent, performing his job as an AD Policeman to the best of his abilities. However, he does show frustration when the Knight Sabers “beat them to the punch” in rogue boomer incidents. He keeps his hair short, almost in a military style cut. He wears a leather jacket, blue jeans, and his trusty firearm. He does have a sizable ego, but it does get a regular thrashing from Nene, Priss, and sometimes Daley.
Personality
Leon is a dedicated, but often frustrated, police officer with a tendency to be gung-ho. He sees himself as a guardian of the public and bears a strong dislike for the Knight Sabers and their vigilante ways. He is also headstrong and fairly stubborn, only backing down when he has no choice. He had set his eyes on Priss, and when sleazy pick-up lines and macho attitude failed, he began to realize that he would need to treat her differently. Acting like a big-shot cop would get him nowhere. He also bears a big grudge against Genom, the mega-corp trying to shut down the “inefficient” department. If (and when) that happened, they would be re-incorporated into the normal Police Department.
History
Leon used to be a member of the normal Police Department’s highway patrol until the AD Police (ADP) was formed to police boomer crimes. Detective McNichol at first despised the Knight Sabers for their seemingly effortless ability to make the ADP look bad. After meeting Priss (and falling for her), he began to slowly piece things together and soon came to know that Priss and Linna were Knight Sabers. He kept their secret, and Daley finds it out for himself a short time later when the ADP tower was overrun. Leon pretty much stuck by the Knight Sabers from then on, doing what he could to help them out, mostly just waiting. After Tokyo was overrun by boomers, he helped the refugees get out of town while the girls went after Galatea.
Skills
Leon is a dedicated cop – “once a cop, always a cop.” Persistence and perseverance.
Notes
He once made the comment that it was too bad that Sylia wouldn’t make a hardsuit for men – even though he’d “look funny” wearing heels. Nene treats him like the brother she never had, calling him by all sorts of pet names, like “Leon-Poo.” She only keeps it up because he lets her rile him.
