Genom realizes that the terrorists have control of ALEX and prepare to isolate him from the rest of the system. The ADP rush the building, disabling the boomers on the first floor. An ADP chopper then delivers a radio to Jeena so she can have communication with the ADP ground forces.
28 then begins to merge with ALEX and tamper with the city’s systems. Genom then goes into a panic trying to manually isolate ALEX from the rest of the city, only to learn that the ADP had been a step ahead.
28 then ruptures ALEX, causing coolant gas to leak. Jeena takes advantage of the situation to dispatch some more terrorists and frees the remaining hostages. Meanwhile, the ADP cuts the hard lines to ALEX, which causes 28 pain and he begins to destroy the building/merge with it. He then begins to taunt Mason.
The USSD then takes over the scene, planning to use a satellite weapon. After the first shot, 28 takes over the satellite. While he was contemplating, Max comes into ALEX’s chamber to activate the bombs attached to the core. He tells Jeena not to stop him.
After the bomb explodes, 28’s conscience begins to dissipate, and he tries to transfer it into Jeena by fusing with her cybernetic arm. As he tries to force his way into her brain, she begins to experience his memories. Then Leon and the others save her, severing her robot arm.
In the end, she appears to be no worse for wear, even teasing Leon on her way. Mason, however, is pissed and has to start all over.
